Mike Farrington

Originally from Lockeport on Nova Scotia's South Shore, Mike began his musical career in Ontario. After playing and recording in the Toronto area for a few years, he relocated to Halifax in 1971. Since then his performing career has taken him throughout the Atlantic Provinces as both a sideman and headliner. His proficiency on bass guitar has lead to all types of engagements from pure country music with the likes of Deborah Kaye, to jazz with the Joe Sealy Trio.

To further his career, Mike branched out into studio work; producing, writing and performing many popular ad campaigns (his jingles are still aired regularly). Next came a series of syndicated parodies for CBC Radio. Television themes, documentaries, even movie scores soon followed with Mike becoming one of the countries most prolific, albeit, behind the scenes composers.

The love of performing is still the siren that beckons most musicians and Mike is no exception. With his musical compliment of the past 20 years, (Dwaine Coughlin), Mike Farrington continues to entertain audiences with his instrumental prowess and vocal abilities.
